UNICO 1000 FAMILY GENERAL- PURPOSE AC DRIVES
Motor-Independent Design
Drives can operate any standard- or inverter-
duty AC induction or synchronous motor.
Auto Tuning
Auto-tuning features adjust virtually all motor
and load parameters. Connect the drive,
enter basic motor nameplate information,
and the drive does the rest.
Digital Setup, Easy Operation
Parameters, readouts, and fault messages
are displayed in easy-to-understand plain
language without codes. An optional graphic
display allows real-time charting.
Application Software
A fully featured velocity/torque control with
PID control is provided for general-purpose
applications. An extensive selection of
preengineered software options is available
to tailor the drive to specific applications.
Protection and Diagnostics
Comprehensive overload, short circuit, and
other protective features ensure safe, reliable
operation. A time-stamped log tracks fault
and event history.
Controller
The standard controller provides basic digital
and analog I/O and serial connectivity.
Alternate controllers offer enhanced
processing power, data logging memory,
expanded I/O, additional serial ports,
transducer and communication interfaces,
and drive synchronization.
Communications
The basic drive incorporates ANSI and
Modbus
®
RTU protocols. Optional interface
modules are available that provide a wide
variety of industry-standard protocols.
Power Quality
Drives have a near-unity overall power factor
and low harmonic line currents at all speeds.
High-power units offer a 12-pulse configuration
for minimizing harmonics in critical applications.

The 1000 family of AC drives from Unico provides
reliable, efficient, cost-effective variable-speed
control of any motor. The drives incorporate the latest
technologies in insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs),
pulse-width modulation (PWM), and digital
signal processing (DSP) to deliver optimum motor
performance, complete programmability, and simplicity of
operation.
FEATURES
Performance
Drives can be operated in field-oriented flux vector mode
for precise control of velocity, torque, and position or in
variable-frequency (V/Hz) mode for simple speed control.
Transducerless
Transducerless vector control provides full torque to
base speed with full starting torque without the use of
a feedback device. For applications requiring positioning
or demanding velocity and torque regulation, a variety
of feedback interfaces is available.
Overload
An extended torque overload rating (110% for one
minute), suitable for centrifugal loads such as fans
and pump, is standard. Variable-torque (120%) and
constant-torque (150%) ratings are also available for
medium- to heavy-duty or cyclic loads.
Mounting feet
